about Us
Welcome to Plowman’s Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant rooted in tradition, community, and a love for made-from scratch comfort food. Here, diners can enjoy a wide variety of homestyle dishes crafted with care—salmon croquettes, shrimp alfredo, chicken fried chicken, and other classics that keep folks coming back. And of course, no visit is complete without indulging in house-baked favorites like chocolate pie or a slice of buttermilk pie. Whether you’re craving breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we proudly serve all of it all day.
Our story is deeply connected to old Taylor history, beginning with the building we call home. Located inside the former Old Taylor High School, Plowman’s Kitchen is part of a historic landmark in one of Taylor’s beloved neighborhoods. The orangish-red, two-story brick school served generations of Taylor Ducks—from its days as the high school from 1923 to 1969, to its years as the middle school until 2001. Today, what was once the bustling school band hall has been lovingly transformed into our warm and welcoming restaurant.
When you step through our doors, you’ll be greeted by a friendly team eager to share their passion for homemade cooking and genuine hospitality. The space is filled with character, featuring vintage band instruments and nostalgic touches that honor the building’s past. It’s a place where history lives on, good food brings people together, and every guest is treated like family.
At Plowman’s Kitchen, we’re proud to serve delicious meals with a side of Taylor heritage—and we can’t wait to welcome you to our table.
